*Cancellations following a claim
If there’s been a claim on your policy before you cancel, you’ll need to pay the full premium for the year – there are no refunds at any time for cancellation after a claim.
Cancellations within 14 days
*If you change your mind shortly after buying, you have two options to cancel your home insurance within 14 days of the start date:
*You can cancel the policy back to the start date. This is your statutory right to cancel. Thet will return your payment in full. In effect, this means that your home was not covered by them.
*Alternatively, you can cancel from any time after the start date within the 14 day period. If you cancel during this time, they will treat the policy as having been in force from the start date until the cancellation date and return the unused premium to you.

*If you cancel your home insurance after 14 days from the start date you will need to pay a 37.43 cancellation fee on top of the time you’ve been covered by them. They return payment for cover after the cancellation date (a pro-rata refund), minus the cancellation fee.

No refunds will be due if a claim has been made against the policy. In accordance with the Road Traffic Act 1988 when a policy is canceled you must declare that you will return or destroy all copies of the Certificate of Motor Insurance relating to your policy (whether held in paper, electronic, digital, or any other format). Where can I find my policy documents?
You can access your policy documents and certificates in your AXA Account. Simply log in and select the ‘policy documents’ tab in ‘Your policies’ – you can view or print your policy documents and check your cover - including only the wording for the policy you’ve bought.
Do I need to declare existing medical conditions?
Yes, you do, and AXA has made it easy for you to do so. If you have an existing medical condition, simply answer a few quick and confidential questions during our quote process and they will let you know if they can offer you a quote that covers you and the conditions you have declared. So, you can feel confident with AXA insurance on your trip. Claims relating to any conditions not declared to them will not be covered. What happens if my building becomes unoccupied?
If your building becomes un-occupied you must notify them immediately, call them on 0330 159 1512. Un-occupied refers to Wholly unoccupied, mainly unoccupied or not in use by you or any of your tenants for more than 45 consecutive days.

Will I get a refund if I cancel my landlord insurance policy?

Depending on when you want to cancel your landlord insurance, there are different refund policies: If you’re not satisfied with your policy, you can contact them within 14 days of receipt of your documents and you’ll be entitled to a full refund – as long as your cover hasn’t started yet. If your cover has started, you’ll receive a proportional refund based on the cover you haven’t used yet. If you cancel after 14 days, you may receive a proportional refund based on the cover you haven’t used yet – but you’ll also have to pay a cancellation fee of $43.72.
In all cases, if you’ve made a claim or a claim been registered against you before you cancel, you won’t be entitled to a refund – and the $43.72 cancellation charge will still apply.
