If you send the order as a day order, it will be cancelled at the end of the core trading session (usually 4 p.m. ET) if it is not executed before such time. Unless another order duration is designated, all orders will be day orders. You may also cancel an order manually before the duration you set by either clicking the “Cancel” button in the Trade Bar (Order Bar) or by right-clicking on the order in the TradeManager and selecting to cancel the order. Other features are also available to let you cancel all open orders for a particular symbol or all open orders for all symbols.
